The department chairman at Alabama wanted to become a Steinway artist. He is a very good pianist, and when went to NY to pick out a new Steinway for the school, he was hoping that just playing one of the pianos in the hall, he would be "discovered". Apparently it takes more than just being a very good piano player to become a "Steinway artist".
