The article states that they "lowered the piano mechanism to align with the keyboard, allowing audience members to view the artist playing from any angle". If you pause the video at about 1.5 minutes in, you'll see they used an elbow and lifter wire arrangement (similar to a spinet) to get the action below the keyboard.
