I am scheduled to attend WNG seminar at M&H in Haverhill next week so I e-mailed Nina today to make sure things were still on schedule.  The word I got back is that everything is fine on their end.

Sandy Roady and others sent updates to me:  the factory was well prepared for the event, so they expect to be on a normal working schedule next week. Yesterday (and perhaps now) they didn't have power or phone service.
I haven't called M&H to check but other than the possibility of a brief power outage I doubt they had any problems. I'm 20 or so miles from Haverhill, and we're both 20 miles from the shore, so no need to fret for folks in Massachusetts.
You can always read nytimes.com and other papers' websites for updates on general conditions. Best,Patrick Draine

Any news on the Steinway factory or Mason and Hamiln?  I sent an email to Kent Webb, but he probably can't respond yet. He's a dear friend of mine.

My prayers are with that whole section of the country. My brother in law is in Philly, and we haven't heard from him yet either.  It's a real mess, I'm sure by what I see on the news.

Subject: [pianotech] PTG Foundation Relief Fund

I have received several emails from Sandy Roady and Kathy Maxwell from the PTG Home office, as well as from Nolan Zeringue, about the availability of the PTG Foundation Relief Fund for those members who have suffered losses due to Hurricane Sandy.

Below is the mission statement of the Relief Fund:
Disaster Relief Fund

The Disaster Relief Fund was originally established in response to the Katrina disaster in New Orleans. Its purpose
is to provide immediate aid to PTG members who are affected by natural disasters such as tornados, earthquakes, and flooding and other events beyond their control. Any member may request aid for themselves or another member by contacting the PTG Home Office
at (913) 432-9975 or by emailing ptg at ptg.org.
The Foundation welcomes contributions to this ongoing Fund so that we may be prepared for when need arises.

The web page which includes any easy way to make contributions to this fund (general Foundation contribution is first, Disaster Relief Fund is below that) is:
  http://www.ptg.org/Scripts/4Disapi.dll/4DCGI/donate/form.html

Best wishes,
Patrick Draine RPT
Northeast Regional Vice President, PTG
