I lowered the pivot holes 5mm and got lucky on the damper timing aspect. No further adjustment required. This is 'killing two birds with one stone". Not only did I alter the overall angle thereby reducing sliding friction but I brought the timing back into spec :-) It's quicker than adjusting all the dampers, got lucky this time. The u/l are suspended by the wires and when you lower the rear, the front rises. Previously, I would plug the old hole with a plug cut from the lower portion of the block. This time I figured it was less work to turn down a spinet hammer shank to ~.160" and pressure fit it in the old hole. It can be pressed out if someone wants to return the action to the OEM high friction. Looking at the proximity of the bottom of the tray to the dags now, lowering the pivot holes to bring the u/l level at rest would cause binding during operation. In the photos you'll see the difference. Originally, it was a 55mm parallel with the keybed (camera angle illusion), I opted for 52mm to calculate a slight angle to follow the angle of the felt. (-5 instead of -8 to lower to a 47m 'parallel'). This resulted in moving the pivot holes from 59mm to 54mm. Before, at the end of the key stroke, the u/l's were at a steep incline, similar to the angle at rest in the 'after' photo. I also set the holes ~.5mm back to account for the arcing. -- Regards, Jon Page -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
