This list has revolutionized my experience as a piano tech. Thank you to all who have so freely shared what cost you lots of hours and money to learn. Having said that, I think we should extend the universal single digit hand signal to the home office and move to either Google Groups or Google+. I vote Google+ but am willing to do both or either. We will then cease being at the mercy of bureaucrats. A vote of support to retain this forum. Hopefully your voices can be heard at the home office. If that doesn't work you can vote with your wallet. Dale Dale Erwin R.P.T. It becomes self serving and no longer serves those who put it in place. I, for one, like receiving all posts and deciding what to read, what to save for a "rainy day," and to delete right away. I want to underscore an important point that someone else made against sub-forums: I peruse pianotech the way I choose which classes to attend at a convention, which is partially by subject, but largely by who is putting forth the information. Yes, there are certain posters whose words I am ALWAYS interested in reading, regardless of the subject matter, and others who are, shall we say, at the other end of the desirability spectrum. Looking for various other lists to subscribe to is just too much trouble and creating even more fracturing and dilution, in my view. The junk mail/pop up/invasiveness of google has no appeal for me. It's too bad that the problems couldn't, or wouldn't be resolved. A valuable resource will be lost, or at least diminished. Come April 1st I think I will simply take a permanent (or at least semi-permanent until something changes for the better) break from the list(s).
