usually a
hammer traveling in an unstraight line is the result of a =
flange/centerpin
problem.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> Theoretically, if you have a =
piano and
all 88 hammers are traveling straight, you should be able to change the =
hammers
and/or the shanks without having to burn or travel =
them.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> A common problem is that when the =
manufacturer drills the birdseye, the drill bit tends to bend under the =
torque
and the hole is not perfectly straight.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> Many thanks to Ray Chandler and =

a lot of
