for this was
to stabilize a broken wire replacement for a longer time. Such as for =
the two
week interval between calls or the second half of a concert. A unison =
with a
coupler was detuned until a slight roll could be heard, then the coupler =
was
removed. I believe there was almost 3 cents difference between the =
strings. That
would mean a coupler could handle a 6 cent change in pitch of a wire. Of =
course
the overall pitch of the coupled wire changes slightly too.</FONT></DIV>

about the
"string coupling" technique that was the cover story on last month's =
Journal.
Seemed to me that while the coupling might help a tuning seem to last =
longer,
the next tuning might be unduly complicated by the coupling. Is anyone =
doing
