Hello Mike =
and All !

The Chickering Co. was bought in the =
summer of
1908 by the American Piano Co.
In 1932 this Co. was bought by the =
Aeolian
Piano Co. At that time or near then the factory
was moved to =
East
Rochester, N.Y.
Aeolian was at some time bought =
by the
"Heller
family" in N.Y. City who owned the "Winter Piano
Co."
For most of the time the Heller family owned
the Aeolian Co. =
Elmer
Brooks and his brothers
George and Alan ran the entire Co. Of =
course this
included Chickering. During the 1920s this company
built great =
pianos.
Chickerings most popular pianos
at that time were The 135, 145 and =
the 123
A -B -C.
The 135 was a 5'3" . The 145 was a 5'8" and the =
123 A-
B- C was a 6'3".
The 135 was one of the best =
5'3".
The 145 was one of the best ( =
5 )
5'8" s ever built
The 123 A-B-C was one of the =
best (4)
6'3"s ever built.
Beware do not confuse the 123 ABC with =
the
123.
The 123 is completely different piano.
I =
think it was
in the 1960s the Heller family sold Aeolian
to some Banks in =
N.Y.City.
In turn they hired a furniture
co. executive by the name of =
Luke
Borger to run the Co.
Elmer Brooks and his brothers were retired =
in the
1970s.
Unfortunately the rest is history. =

The
above are my oppinions.

Regards to all,
Jack Wyatt
