Yes they do. But you have to work at it. Opinions will vary, but I'm finding
the best results with Samicks come from needling visa vi steam or alcohol/water
treatment.
<p>Three or four sessions to break down the hammer enough without wrecking
it. Needle about 30 times each shoulder with 5 mm deep three needles one
day... let it rest and come back tommorrow. The felt will have closed up
some, and it will be easier to needle again. Repeat a couple three times
until you have an easy time of fine needling just under the crown. You
can get hard hammers to end up with a very nice consistancy this way, and
the resulting voicing has a high degree of staying power.
