I've used braided Dacron line for this repair in the past (used to be
called squidding line) and still have a good supply of it which I'm
hoarding because the stuff they are offering nowadays in sporting goods
stores is treated with something that resists glue as Isaac said. So
unless you're Ben Treuhaft of the Underwater Piano Shop, you might just
go with the silk action cord (Pianotek #FCD-1, #3.95 for a 30 yd roll).
