<html> <blockquote type=cite class=cite cite><blockquote type=cite class=ci= te cite>Dan Hall was up here a couple of years ago, looking at Calgary for a National Convention, and we made the trek up to the Banff Centre to see how their Convention facility works.  I think I have to say that Dan was very impressed.  As far as accomodation goes, you are right, one thousand bodies does not fit into their rooms, but they do have arrangements with the hotels downtown and you can stay at the Banff Springs if you really want a holiday.  My vote would be to have it in the new Convention Centre downtown Calgary.  I am sure that there must be full report from Dan somewhere at Head Office.  Prices are pretty good when you convert them to US dollars.  The biggest drawback for having the having the Convention in Canada was getting the exhibiters to deal with the border.  I still get calls from the Convention Bureau in Calgary looking for our business.</blockquote></blockquote> Chris Gregg <x-tab>        </x-tab> <blockquote type=cite class=cite cite>Hi, Wim. Point take= n. Perhaps the best option would be a college campus, with both dorm and (nearby) hotel accommodations an option, so people could choose for themselves. From what people have said on this thread, I also get the idea that colleges are upgrading their dorms and building conference centers with fancier rooms. Certainly Banff has.
