(Among other things, I showed up for the pre-service pancake breakfast, got roped into a choir rehearsal, as stayed fro the service.) I included a long-shot picture of the piano in the sanctuary. ("Easter Sunday" 4/20/03)</div> <div><br></div> <div>The Church members put off plans for an inaugural concert until  this Fall (actually this Saturday upcoming). And there was a nice story in the local paper on Tues. (first page of which posted here as a graphic, the remaining text at the url below).</div> <div><br></div> <div>I still can't believe how well this piano lasted, sitting as it did for decades, derelict in a dusty old grange hall. The beech action parts were fracturing, strings were popping, applique carving was falling off and walking away. But under neath this near-century of neglect was a very string board and block (I went from 2/0x2.375 to 3/0x2.5 and it feels brand-new.) Since then I've found an identical Krakauer 4 years older in a Unitarian Church the next town over, with the same strong signs of what it has to offer, speaking through the 100 year-old materials.
