Del, I use 0000 steel wool lightly first. This cleans the keytop of paint/overspray/whatever and polishes a bit. Then I use a soft 6" wheel with a compound called Plastic by Dico. It is less abrasive than jewelers' rouge. Don't press the key too hard, it will melt! Go back over the keytop with a clean steel wool pad (0000) to give it that touch that isn't slick.
