Yesterday I jointed with a hand plane and glued up
two soundboard panels (a 6-footer and a 9-footer), tapered one of them to spec
with a hand plane (sweating my tushy off), and sanded both of them down so they
are ready for finishing. Let me tell ya, I had a big smile on my face at 11 pm
when I finished ('cause I love doing this kind of stuff), but I was dead on my
feet and then asleep in my recliner by 11:10 pm!

advance. In that case do you want to be rested, tuning wise, from a
day in the shop, or be nicely dressed from a day of tuning, but a little
tired...no easy answer here. I still think 1/2 day of shop and 1/2
of tuning works best...
>
>
> David Ilvedson,
