If you are accustomed to the crash, buzz and distortion that a Steinway D can and
often does deliver at the upper end, then you are not likely going to be
satisfied with a Boes where the design tries to address some of that: larger
cut off, heavier rib design, thicker panel. My experience is that a Boes doesn’t
lack power in the least but delivers it in a more controlled way that than,
say, a Steinway D. Some people may not like that. </span></font></p>

225 over a Mason BB (7 ft.) AND a Steinway D (9 ft.) based on the piano's
power. The color spectrum available on a properly serviced and prepped Bosie is

In response to your last paragraph, I happen to have a recording of a <br>
concert a friend did over at Cunningham piano (Phila, PA) on a model <br>
217 or 225 (not sure which one). He'd probably beat me if I posted it <br>
for people to listen to, but I could post a short clip for anyone <br>
thinking a Bosendorfer is light on power and it may encourage them to <br>
re-think. It was just a casual recording from a reasonable distance <br>
(good equipment though), but there is no doubt that it has some
"guts".<br>
