have used epoxy. Just seems to me that if you are working with an old block,
epoxy seeping around, filling voids, cracks, and delaminating areas perhaps has
more potential for a very strong end product. Makes me sleep better

epoxy, so it bears pointing out that the tight fit suggested below would be
for a glue joint. If you are using epoxy (like West System - I usually
use it unthickened), you want to make the hole slightly
