<DIV>I noticed that also Rich. It's fairly obvious that this was a
plain-jane L in 1923 and someone not only "reveneered" it, but also
changed and added quite a bit to the case. It does appear to be nice
veneer work. The inside of the lid, the inside of the fallboard, the
backside of the music desk and the inside of the rim appear to be the
original plain-jane mahogany veneer. They added the two-inch wide piece
around the inside of the lid perimeter to allow the fancy thick lid
edge.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Interesting though. Does fancy veneer work really command that
kind of $$?</DIV>

<DIV>This piano has been on ebay before, Terry. Whoever dressed up this
piano did a very nice job. They don't have the close ups so it isn't
obvious that the woodwork is not original.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>For instance, the lid does not have the same grain pattern as that
flap on the key slip. Now who would make an art grand and not match
grain patterns? I saw other things last time around - I just don't
recall them now.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Still a unique piece, though.</DIV>
