Owner was 70-something skinny little lady. Turned out most hammer felts were falling off their cores and the tenor end of both the bass and long bridges had the cap separating from the root. She just bought the darn thing for $1K. She is very aware that she got "ripped off".</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Recommended replacing the piano. Lady wanted to try to fix it on the cheap. Explained proper repairs. Settled on band-aid approach of super glue on the bridges and she will reglue the hammer felt. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I gooped in a pile of glue between caps and roots and sprayed accelerator before all of it leaked out the other side of the cap. Seemed to work just fine - restored "tone". She was VERY happy.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>She said she would reglue the hammer felt. I explained the method and supplies needed and demonstrated on one felt. She just emailed me to report in that she had finished completely detaching and then regluing all the hammer felts on the piano. She said the piano sounds just great - except for one note sounding tinny - but she put packing tape on the hammer and said that it sounded fine now.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Go figger.
