To most it means it's "Collectable". The true definition per most Antique Places is: Has to be 100 years old +; Usually unique in some way; Is "displayable"; Is "one of a kind"; Has Historic Relevance. Most pianos do not meet the second criteria or the fourth one. Most collectable pianos are pre 1850 or so. Any claims of "it came around the Horn", or it was owned by Marianne Gotrocks, blah blah...needs to have documentation, i.e. "provenance". There are few people that actually "collect" pianos.
