<div> Since this puzzler went basically unnoticed, I'll supply the answer now: let-off button rail too far forward. The clicking sound was caused by the backcheck wires hitting the edge of the buttons. I just loosened the 3 screws that hold the rail in place and slid the rail further back in the fork/mounts. Let-off will have to be re-regulated in that section.</div>

<div>Action clicks have been costing me time of late. I had yet another click today. The piano is a Kawai K-30 upright. </div>

<div>On hammer blow, there's a click, as well as some resistance late in the key stroke. This was happening on many notes in the middle section of the piano. I thought I'd cured the problem at my last visit when I regulated the backchecks to catch the hammers sooner. I found more clicking today, though. I was determined to find the cause rather than to try to treat the symptoms. </div>
