Should be very shallow. Make sure thats right first. Does that instrument control dip with the jack rail or does it have front pins and punchings like a piano? Also, at the risk of being flamed by instrument makers and more experienced techs, several customers of mine have found help in the Harpsichord Owners Guide (?) by Kottick. I dont own it myself and I dont think Id depend on it for the best information, but, like Reblitz, it can be very useful for someone getting to know the instruments.
