the hammer molding behing the shank is a small hand pruning shear. They
look like a large pair of pliers and are usually made with an anvil and a sharp
blade that comes down to it. They are inexpensive, easy to control and
really do a good job especially if you make two or three cuts. Usually the
hammer falls off. Works well as a shank trimmer too. </FONT></DIV>
