Mike,

I think the basic problem was/is that he was trying to regulate it on the
bench. Not at the piano! And that won't work!

Please clarify: When the whites bottom out on the black FR
punchings, have they dipped 3/8, or are they bottoming before reaching
3/8? I don't understand which problem, or both, you are
experiencing:
a) Whites bottom out on black FR before reaching full dip,
or
b) Full 3/8 dip is not sufficient to get let-off and
aftertouch.
(I used 3/8" in the above problem statements, but as others have
pointed out, you should probably be using 10mm, or .394",
which will give you and additional .019" to play with)

typed all the wrong info on the first email, and embarrassed myself , let
me try this again.
The piano is a G1 Yamaha
Key height is 65.5
blow distance is 47.5
key dip is 3/8 (using the Jaras key dip tool)
My problem is after I get through all the regulation points the white
keys are bottoming out on the black keys front rail felt. I
am regulating this action on the bench, I don't' know if that changes
anything. I can't think of any other details. Yes, I have spaced
everything, aligned jacks in windows, etc.. I feel like its
probably something real minor that I'm just overlooking.
Thanks for any help.
