<DIV>Does anyone have experience with the Yamaha U10? I have been told
that it is a model built in Japan for the domestic market, equivalent to
the U1, imported en masse directly from Japan and parcelled out to various
retail outlets in the U.S. and Canada. It is rumoured that they may not stand up
well in the cold dry climates of North America. It has been suggested that
a Dampp-Chaser would likely eliminate this potential problem. Yamaha Canada
advertises its products as "<SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana"><FONT face="Microsoft Sans Serif"
size=3>specifically seasoned for the North American market"</FONT>.</SPAN></DIV>

<DIV>I am interested in buying a U10 for my own use that appears to be
in very good shape and little used. List price for a U1 locally in Nova Scotia
is C$10,900 (about $9,300). The used U10 is offered at C$6,500 (about
$5,500).</DIV>
