I have a 1-1/2 year old Bergmann in my shop right
now that was the victim of inexcusable wrath. It seems this guy purchased
it new from the local dealer. He kept it for an entire year not making a
single payment. Finally the finance company lost all patience. The
movers were told to come and reposes the piano. Before they could get
there he took a hammer and beat the hell out of it. They brought it to me
to analyze the situation. The lid, the fall board, and the bench were all
smashed. He also took the hammer to the keyboard and smashed numerous
keys. Fortunately he did not take the hammer to the inside of the piano so
everything there was intact. Long story short I have inherited the piano
from the finance company who has officially written it off as a total
loss. Needless to say the guy no longer has any credit and will probably
never be able to borrow money again.

In the meantime I have spoken to Young Chang and
have determined that I should be able to restore it to "new" status again.
They have all the case parts on hand and can supply me with a completely new
keyboard. What I don't have is any time to work on it. If I ever get
caught up then that will be a good project.
