<DIV>We have some of these in our store. Our weather isn't so extreme as yours here in San Diego, so I don't know if that's an issue. If you examine the key/keyframe fit, you will probably find that the keypins are almost buried in the key buttons. But if you lower the keys by removing more punchings, the keys will be too low. Be careful here. Check the "magic line" to be sure you don't make a problem worse by changing the overall key height and upsetting the capstan/wippen heel contact point. Or, you may find that it is currently incorrect (capstan contact point isn't on the 'line') and you need to do something to change it. See if the backrail cloth is too thick. If so, you may need to change it (that might explain why there's so many punchings under the keys). Again, you need to be aware of the need for the keysticks to be in the proper relationship with the keyframe and related geometry/leverages. Don't forget- it has to fit in the case too! You may get it regulated, move the keys around, only to find that the keys are now too low, and the keytop lips are hitting the top of the keyslip.</DIV>

<DIV>Hi list,</DIV>
<DIV>Tuned this new Hamilton grand at dealers just before Christmas. No big deal, not great ,but no real major problems. Went back last week after a prolonged cold snap here in the NE. </DIV>
<DIV>Key dip was no more than 8mm and regulation was terribly off as you would expect.</DIV>
<DIV>Looked under fronts and found about an average of 8-10 punchings under each key, also key height is off on several naturals.</DIV>
<DIV>I'm open to any suggestions besides gasoline and a match to correct.</DIV>
<DIV>My first thought is to redo height and dip and then regulate, but could this be a key frame problem? Humidity level has not been over 30% in this room.</DIV>
