For one such tough nut I went through the hole in the top and screwed
the bottom of the can to a bench with two screws, grabbed the lip of
the big hole with a plier and was able to spin it off. For another the
fix was to stomp on it and toss it.<br>

wire coils I had previously bought. I could open all but one. I tried hot,
cold, vice, lubrication, all to no avail, until recently, when it just
"gave" one day.
