A while back I tuned a YC G-157 (serial# G109437 -- anyone know year of mfr? My Pierce 9th edition does not go that high). I'm a pretty low-time tech so I don't always notice all the sorts of differences that are being discussed on YC's in this thread. Anyhow, I certainly DID notice how very difficult this YC was to tune. I felt the pins were extremely tight (and, I thought, sticky).  But now in reviewing this thread, I'm recalling that even when the pin did move, the pitch didn't necessarily move with it.  Is Protek the recommended solution? How about on the pins? (JOKE!! Is it also on the bottom of the V bar instead of the rod?   I used protech VERY liberally, more so than I would usually want to admit, and no, the strings are not rusty.     How about that "chrome plated" duplex-like bridge just forward of the tuning pins.
