Why avoid it -- unless it is because you're already late for the next <br>

Pull that action and remove the wippen. My bet is the flange has over <br>
10 grams of resistance. Check the jack and hammer flanges too. Repin <br>
as necessary -- you're in this deep and Protek isn't a definite fix! <br>
Oh, I've had a couple Hamiltons with a similar symptom -- turned out <br>
the plate strut was cracked & expanded outward, interfering with the <br>
back of the wippen! <br>
