seen. To bad one can't see details of the case and legs/lyre, which are easier
to identify. The plate looks like Boesendorfer

transitional models. From your pictures it is also obvious that it was
designed from start for an English-style action, not Viennese. But the signs of
trapwork inside the action cavity suggests the Austrian piano

class=046395008-10062007>There was a time (in the late 19th c.) when several
manufacturers went from capo d'astro to agraffes only. Even Steinway did this,
but it didn't last long. Only bechstein is the notable exception. They switched
to all-agraffes and kept it that way longer than everybody else. They only
started building pianos with capo d'astro again a few years
ago.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

proposal and worksheet. I have it in my records as a c.1895 Bosendorfer grand,
approx. 213 cm in length. The name Bosendorfer did appear on the keycover in

The original action was a single-escapement design. Most of the original
action parts were either missing or so badly mangled as to be unrepairable.
The original keys were flared out so both a new keyset and a matching action
stack were designed to fit the original keybed and strikeline. The original
keyset and action were returned to the owner in case he ever wanted to have
them restored and fitted back to the piano. The new keyset and action were
designed with this possibility in mind.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

somewhere but not that I can lay my hands on easily. As you can see some
