<DIV> On new customers, I ask " can you get to the piano
?" usually they can. " play middle C please ", If they don't
know what that is, I explain its 2 blacks then 3 then 2 etc.
If the pitch is down I explain that I'll need extra time, maybe 2
trips and of course an evaluation of its overall condition. I get to hear
some of what I'm in for and can schedule accordingly. As far as what other
tooner/techs have done in the past, I try not to condem them,
after 25 years sometimes I get to cringe at some of my old work
too spirited as it may have been.</DIV>
