Make 2 "legs" for it about 7 to 8" long  from the same material and secure them to each end with glue and screws. If you want to get fancy you can add a piece of 3/4"X1/4" material next to the slot for the bass end, standing on the 1/4" edge, so your wedge dampers are supported above the flat surface. I just used that, but I was wanting something more secure. Now I am thinking, of splitting some plastic pipe, sealing the ends, and incorporating that into the rack.
