<html xmlns:o="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40"> <head> <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <meta name=ProgId content=Word.Document> <meta name=Generator content="Microsoft Word 9"> <meta name=Originator content="Microsoft Word 9"> <link rel=File-List href="cid:filelist.xml@01C7E1A7.53F23A00">  <style>  </style> </head> <body lang=EN-US style='tab-interval:.5in'> <div class=Section1> Some Acrosonics have wippens with “snap-on” bushings for the center pins of the sticker.  And the sticker has a 90-degree “L” at the top, which sits atop the capstan screw.  <o:p></o:p> Sometimes, however, something is not straight and the “L” is angled off to the side of the capstan.  On a hard blow, the capstan (and the tail end of the key) just gets forced up between two stickers and won’t play the note.  I’ve investigated the sticker and the center pin holes/bushings appear to be bored straight, i.e., perpendicular to the sides of the sticker, and the snap-in bushing in the wippen doesn’t appear angled.  Yet when the sticker is snapped in, it sits askew. <o:p></o:p> I tried gluing a little sliver of wood to one of the birdseyes, on the wippen tongue, to rotate the sticker around a little bit.  But it wasn’t enough.<o:p></o:p> I s’pose I could heat the sticker with a heat gun and twist the heck out of it, but it would take about a 30-degree twist to correct it.<o:p></o:p> Any other solution?  Surely this isn’t the only Acrosonic with that problem.  Three other keys (actually wippens) have the same ailment.  <o:p></o:p>             --David Nereson, RPT  <o:p></o:p> </div> </body> </html>
