that the surface and angle of the hammerbutt had developed quite a hash
ridge, thus the jack wasn't able to return back to it's rest
position.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Correction: remove hammerbutt and press the
leather/felt configuration back to a smoother surface. Problem
solved.</FONT></DIV>

<P>Problem: Acrosonic with a key that just occasionally sticks after a
hardish blow. And when it sticks, it really sticks.</P>
<P></P>
<P>Diagnostics: Keystick NOT sticking. NO foreign objects or parts
interference. Jack and jack spring working just swell, thank you. NOT a
pinning problem with any flange. Damper working correctly, spoon NOT corroded
and NOT digging into the felt. Hammer and butt in good condition and traveling
correctly. Lost motion, letoff, and aftertouch (on a spinet?) nicely
regulated, after some adjustments by yours truly.</P>

<P>Hint: Had to remove the @*&#$% action and practically use my xray
vision to spot the problem. Actual fix took about 15 seconds and required a
tiny drop of PVC-E glue.</P>
