10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:navy'>As I was tuning, I noticed that the A3 was
not damping properly. Upon further investigation, I noticed that it was not a
damper problem, but that the right string was right up against the center
string. This was not allowing the damper to properly mute the center string.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

over to it’s proper position. As I brought it back up to pitch, it
slipped back over. I tried to file the capo a bit but was not really
successful with the other strings in the way. I tried using my spacing tool to
hold the string in position, while I pulled it up, but as soon as it was able
it moved back against the center string.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

mute and placed it in between the strings and it came up to pitch nicely and
stayed in position. It worked nicely. It also looks funny. (See attached
picture). What was the proper repair? I want to do it right when I go back
next time. (But I don’t think the owner will go for too much expense
either). <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
