until the late 1990's (when the factory quietly changed the cord material)
all Yamaha hammer flanges used the same cotton cord. So all
Yamaha verticals built before the late 1990's are potential sources of
spring cord repair income.<BR></FONT><FONT face=Arial>Why some models
were affected more than others has always been a minor mystery to
me. </FONT></P>

spring cords on Yamaha consoles, both American (1981) and Japanese
(1970) made. Does anyone know when Yamaha fixed this time-bomb
problem? Has anyone seen this problem with any of the Yamaha
