I was still at the customers. Thanks for that suggestion. There are other
issues such as the Damper Up-stop rail and general maintenance which I am
looking to address. The screws to the plate stretcher sounds like a possibility
that is worth looking at. If there are screws to be removed, will I see them by
looking from the rear of the piano perspective, between the tuning pins and the
stretcher board? This seems to be the only place where they could be. Am I
correct?<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

you might be able to reach in with a long screw<br>
driver blade and tighten it. One thing to consider<br>
though is if the bottom fastener has migrated lower<br>
because of not being locked in place and in which case<br>
might force the rail down onto the rear of the wippens.<br>
<br>
Look at the behind the stretcher to see if it is<br>
screwed to the plate. I've seen some stretchers which<br>
have to be removed in order to get the action out.<br>
