I've used Bill's system, the single caul method for several years now and like
it very much. I've heard positive and negative about the brass cauls some like
to use an iron on a cool setting on the brass cauls to "set" the
sizing, which makes some sense and isn't possible with Bill's cauls. If I
find that to be necessary, I use a pencil type soldering iron, a 25 watt type,
with the soldering tip removed and a short piece of brazing rod in it's
place. On the negative side I've seen posts about having to remove glue
from the brass cauls, never a problem with Bill's cauls. Also a
negative for the brass cauls/Bushmaster for me at least would be the cost, they
cost about twice as much and suggest the necessity of the tool
which is expensive. Bill's cauls are easy to handle and measuring the
amount of cloth by eye is a short learning curve. <br clear=all>
