<div>Rick</div> <div> </div> <div>This usually occurs when one of the hammers is to close to the other one. You can probably see some spacing problem. The best way to fix this problem is to loosen the flange screw of the hammer that is not spaced correctly. Put the screw driver blade between the two offending flanges, and gently move the one that is not space properly, over. Then tighten the flange screw. <br> <br> If the problem is not corrected, you might notice is that the offending hammer does not travel straight towards toe string. If so, you will need to shim the flange. To do this, remove the hammer, butt and flange of the rubbing hammer, and put a piece of masking tape in the inside of the flange on the same side as the direction you want the hammer to go. In other words, if you want the hammer to move to the left, put the masking tape on left side of the flange. <br> <br> Then there might be a third situation, where the hammer is not glued straight on the shank. In this case, you need to "burn" the hammershank and twist the hammer. Take a heat source, like a butane lighter or alcohol lamp, heat the shank, and while it is warm, twist the hammer. then remove the heat source, while holding the hammer in the correct position.
