soundboard. The warm air under the soundboard will tend to stay there if
undisturbed because warm air rises (it's less dense). That warm air will in turn
warm the soundboard. The soundboard will warm the air above it (like where the
strings are). If there is some type of air movement restriction in close
proximity to and above the strings (like a lid), or some type of insulation
(like a string cover or a blanket over the entire piano), then some of that
heated air will remain in the string environment. The warmed air will have a
lower relative humidity level than the rest of the room, thus helping to reduce
string corrosion.</FONT></DIV>

I also agree with you! This does, however, morph from the original point of
what the DC unit does or does not do. I agree that a string cover will help
with the rusty strings issue. I don’t believe that the DC unit will help with
