>
> Greg,
>
> Your screwdriver with a quick charge sounds very
interesting.
>
> I recently bought an electric screwdriver that I
just love. It isn't very powerful, so it's not zippy quick (but then, at
62 neither am I! and it does turn the screws easier and faster than I do) and I
have to tighten the last bit in the manual mode. However, it does
practically everything on the job easier so I'm thrilled with it.
>
> It is a Black and Decker Alkaline, with two modes; power and
manual. Small print says: AS600 Type 1 6
Volt ??130/MIN RPM Takes 4 AA batteries. I bought it at
WalMart, about $7.
>
> When I run out of power, I just pop
four new batteries in. The first batteries lasted a month.
>

again!
> Greg Newell gnewell at ameritech.net
>
> Hey folks!
I’ve been browsing a bit after being quite sick and tired of
> cordless
tools and their batteries. We’ve probably all experienced
> frustration
with these things since the batteries don’t last nearly as long
> as the
tool does. You can’t leave them in the charger or the batteries get
>
cooked. You have to wait a fair amount of time after putting them in the
>
charger until their usable again. A new battery costs almost as much as
the
> tool did. Etc., etc., etc. While looking for a new cordless
screwdriver I
> found something of interest I’d love to have your thought
on. Check this out
> <A
