<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <META content="MSHTML 6.00.2900.2912" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <DIV>Dean,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I think this is going just to you.   I am a blind computer user, so the instructions below is what I use when I haven't used the access in a while and want to be reminded.   It is simple and straight to the point, but maybe is a little biest since I have not shared them with any one else.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>William</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Access <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Creating a database.   Open the program, choose new from the files menus and press enter.   When it says blank database, press enter.   When it asks for the file name, type the name and then press enter.   When it says, create table in design view press enter.   At this point you will be in a blank database and you are ready to create the fields of the database. <o:p> </o:p> There are three questions for each field.   The first choice is the field name, so write in the name of the field and press tab.   Next is the data type and if you leave it alone you can type what ever you want in this field up to 50 characters.   If you press alt-down arrow there are options.   If you choose Memo it makes this field into a text file.   If you choose numeral only numbers can be entered into this field, and so on.   Press enter on your choice and it takes you to the third choice.   This is a reminder field if you want to type something to remind you what to enter on this field.   Press tab again and it takes you to the next field with the same choices and continue on, until you have all the fields you want.   <o:p> </o:p> Now that the fields are filled in you want to save the database.   Press control-s to save.   It will ask for a name and type the name of the database exactly as you named the database earlier and press enter.   It will prompt you that there is no primary key, tab to no and press enter.   Now you want to go to the files menu and close the program, if you use alt F-4 it jams the program.   Press alt F and down arrow to close and press enter.  This puts you in the menus page.  Pres alt-F and down arrow to close and press enter again.   At this point you can minimize the program with windows-M. <o:p> </o:p> Open access as you would to the multiple document interface client window.   Choose Alt-F for files, down arrow to open and press enter, shift tab to the list view and arrow down to the database and enter on the database name.   Tab to the tables button, then down arrow to forms button and press enter.   It will say, create forms in design view,   Press Alt-N for new.   Here it will give you some choices so, down arrow twice to auto form columnar, then tab to list view, down arrow to the name of your database and press enter.   Here it will go wer wiz and it is all done.   Close the program, re open it and start filling out fields..  Remember, don’t use alt F-4, because it will jam the program.  Use alt-F to get to the files menu, arrow down to close and press enter.  This puts you in the menus page.  Pres alt-F for files and down arrow to close and press enter.  This puts you in the multiple documents interface window.  Minimize the program so you can use it another time before shutting down the program. <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Modifying a database.   Starting at the menus screen in forms view, tab to tables button and press inter.   Press Alt D for design, this puts one where they can modify the database.   Make any modifications you want and close the database from the files menu.   Return to the menus page.   Tab to tables button, Down arrow to forms button and press inter.   Pres alt-N for new.   Down arrow to auto form columnar.   Tab to List view.   Down arrow to the database name.   Tab to o-k and press enter.   Be sure you are in the database and close it from the files menus.   When it asks if you want to save the changes, press inter.   When it gives a name there will be a number on the end, delete that number and press inter.   Tab to yes replace existing file and press enter.  Close the program from the files menus and minimize the program. <o:p> </o:p></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>PIANO BOUTIQUE William Benjamin The tuner alone, Preserves the tone.</DIV></BODY></HTML>
