<DIV><FONT face=Arial>The fish is bonded to the rim to reduce the amount of
soundboard area to the rear of the bridge in the high treble. This increases
soundboard stiffness by the mere fact that the soundboard is thus
smaller (which is generally beneficial in the high
treble) and eliminates excess high treble soundboard area that appears to
be of no value (and in fact appears to be detrimental to piano tone and
soundboard longevity).</FONT></DIV>
