<div>Hi Garret,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Do you mean like not putting the piano on an outside wall, that one is left over from the days before insulation! I now have customers with pianos in front of frequently used doorways, in winter, to avoid the outside walls in their new homes! I blithely told one woman she didn't need to concern herself about it as long as the house was insulated only to be informed that her brick home was 150 years old and had never been insulated!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Of course you've heard of, "If you don't play it how can it go out of tune?". My answer is an explanation of the effects of humidity on properly dried wood over a period of time that includes a season change.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>More to follow,</div>

<p>Forgive me if this is already in the archives. Would you care to help generate a list of myths "wives tales" and responses? Like you I deal with them all the time. Even thought the piano has not been tuned for ump-teen years the customer calls for a tuning because the piano was just moved across the room. What school do our customers attend to be so well versed at (Im)proper piano care?</p>
