This is called a "pear" knuckle. If&nbsp;I recall, (I haven't done one of these for many years), the jack is aligned to the back edge of the "ledge". <br>

<div class=MsoNormal><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial">I am working on a piano that has the knuckle build into the hammer shank. It consists of a ledge cut in the bottom of the shank which is then covered with leather. This replaces the standard knuckle. My problem is what to align the jack to as there is no center core as in a regular shank/knuckle arrangement. Any suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated.</SPAN></FONT></div>
