Some of the 77s use solid oak bridges and should be looked at carefully. Some used an oak base with maple cap, and others are maple-maple (these sound the best).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Models 55 and 66 have a mock "tension regulator" and  also sound quite good. However,.these are very high tension scales and always have weak pins in the tenor for the first 6 unisons  above the break.
