The dad was a long long time associate in the Guild who knew "everything" Baldwin so claimed. The daugter never joined the guild and used the letters APT after her name, probably to fool the general population.  It stood for Associate Piano Technician.  I'd find her cards under the lids of several pianos I visited on a first time visit with new customers.... I strongly feel it creates consumer confusion. A lot of tuners advertise with "Certified" just because they graduated with a certificate, whether from an accredited school or not. Anecdotally I have noticed that these tuners are usully not members of PTG. I have even seen it posted like a "diploma".
