Frank,

Dittos. Change is always uncomfortable, and I, like you, had to swallow hard to get started. But, I've also found that the worst thing about the my.ptg.org is that it is new and will take some learning.

I have been on and off of the Pianotech list, and
other list servers, many times over the years. Every time I have
"signed off" it has been because of the nastiness that seems to take control
over civil discourse. Maybe it is the "nature of the beast" that one can
sit in his (or her) underwear, in isolation at a computer,
and assassinate others in relative, perceived annonimity that this media
allows such to happen. I wish I could say that I am surprised that
such thinks could be said here, but I have seen it here (and
elsewhere) before. I am ashamed and embarrassed to be a part of a
group whose members attack individuals whose intent has been nothing but to
serve those who insult them.

I have to say that I initially reacted negatively
to the changes, but I immediately dove into exploring the new
possibilities. The more I learned, the more I came to appreciate its
potential. Carry on! Speaking for myself, Allan, Ron, and Andy,
you are moving us forward, and I applaud your work and tireless effort!
Again, I am speaking for myself, but I suspect there are many others, if not a
vast majority, who appreciate your work!

Take heart in the fact that the level of criticism
reflects the fact that this list has vast importance in the life's work of those
who criticize. If it were not so, they would be indifferent to the changes
taking place on the list.

this list, in moral support of those who work hard to improve it, however
faltering their efforts may be to realize those improvments.
