<div>There are three steps to this. First, removing the dampers and old strings. Second, replacing the strings and dampers. Third, tuning the piano.</div>

<div>Removing the dampers and strings should take about an hour or so.</div>
<div>Replacing the strings will take about 2 hours, and replacing and regulating the dampers will take an other hour. But this does not include tuning the new strings</div>
<div>The initial chipping and first tuning will take about half an hour. But then you're going to have to come back 6 or 7 times, over a period of four weeks, to retune the bass strings. After that, you'll need to retune the piano every 3 months for a year.</div>

<div>I have to do an insurance estimate on a G2 that was soot damaged about 13 or 14 years ago. The customer had the piano "cleaned" at the time but the tech didn't see the need to replace the strings. They are now very dead.</div>
<div>I have a price on a replacement set of strings but have only strung bass sections as part of restringing jobs or hooking the strings back on the hitchpins & tightening after bridge repairs. </div>
<div>The last job I did like this was 25+ years ago & I have no recollection of how long it took! (g) <BR clear=all></div>
