For one, one really needs to understand and know the names of parts, and which ones are needed for a particular piano. And second, even though this is supposed to be a confidential parts list, the fact that Steinway just published a new part list, (which I got, by the way, right after I asked for it), you can bet that some "unauthorized" people got it, too. The same with Schaff's price list. Any one can ask for it.
